Wage and Payment

Wages and Payment Structure for Employees

Heartfelt Care Services Limited

At Heartfelt Care Services Limited, we ensure fair compensation for all employees based on their experience and the nature of the job. You will be engaged on a zero-hours contract, meaning there is no obligation for you to accept work nor for us to offer it, but you will be paid based on your work hours.

Hourly Wage Structure

Your wages are based on a flexible rate of £11.50 per hour. This rate reflects fair compensation for your work, and any slight variations due to job or location will be communicated before each assignment.

Take-Home Pay: Understanding Deductions

While your hourly wage reflects your gross pay, several deductions will be made before you receive your take-home pay. These include:

National Insurance Contributions (NIC):

NIC is deducted at 12% of earnings over £242 per week.

Income Tax:

Income tax is deducted based on earnings, generally 20% on earnings over £1,048 per month.

Pension Contributions (Optional):

  • If you opt into the workplace pension scheme, around 5% of your earnings will be deducted, and the employer will make additional contributions.

Holiday Pay

In addition to your hourly wage, you are entitled to holiday pay. This will be paid at 12.07% of your earnings. For example:

If you earn £11.50 per hour:

Holiday Pay (12.07%): £11.50 × 12.07% = £1.39

Total hourly rate with holiday pay: £11.50 + £1.39 = £12.89

Mileage Reimbursement

There are two mileage reimbursement structures based on the nature of the work:

Domiciliary Care Staff:

If you travel between multiple clients, you will be reimbursed from the first mile. As per HMRC guidelines, the reimbursement rate will be a standard payment of 45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles. This rate covers fuel, maintenance, and other associated costs.

Single-Location Work (e.g., working at one site such as a hospital or care home):

For assignments where you travel to a single location, you will be reimbursed one way after 10 miles. This means if you travel 12 miles one way (24 miles total), you will be refunded for 2 miles each way:

  1. 4 miles total (round trip) × 45p = £1.80 reimbursement per day.

Mileage is calculated based on the distance exceeding 10 miles for one-way travel and applies to round trips.

Working Hours and Flexibility

Employees can work part-time or full-time, with no limit on the hours worked, provided breaks and other legal requirements are met. You can work up to 70 hours per week by law.

Payment

You will receive your wages through weekly or monthly payments (as agreed), which will be directly deposited into your bank account. Please ensure that your bank details are current to avoid any payment delays.

Please note that wages for new staff will be paid monthly instead of weekly. This is a temporary arrangement.

Additional Information

Your wage payments will include:

Holiday pay: 12.07% of your hourly wage.

Mileage reimbursement for eligible travel.

The following will be deducted from your pay:

National Insurance Contributions (NIC).

Income Tax.

Pension contributions (if opted in).
